About Gold Country Paddlers

Since its inception in November 1992, our club has been oriented toward whitewater kayaking, canoeing and rafting. Our main purpose within the club is to facilitate the networking of paddlers in Northern California for access to and enjoyment of safe and responsible boating. Currently, 363 paddlers are members of Gold Country Paddlers.

To this end we offer the following benefits:

  Membership List/Phone List:
The complete membership list is printed twice each year. Updates are provided in monthly newsletters. If you have question about your membership, please email . If you have questions about the electronic mail list server, contact Todd French at .

The newsletter provides a forum for the exchange of paddling information within the club. This includes club meeting information, trip reports, trip calendar, updates on river conditions, special events and river conservation information. To submit information for the newsletter, contact the editor, .

  Paddling Trips:
Trips are organized on a regular basis for most skill levels by volunteers within the club. You are ultimately responsible for making sure that your personal skill level is appropriate for the level of difficulty indicated for any trip posted in the newsletter or arranged by other members. Volunteer trip organizers will be happy to provide additional information regarding flows, shuttle information, and logistics. To volunteer to lead a trip, or to get information about upcoming trips, contact our trip coordinator, Davide Sartoni at .

The club meets for educational or social meetings on a regular basis. Meetings are held in the Sacramento and/or Bay Area as best suits the topics or presenter. Some meetings may also take place on the river. Meetings are announced in the club newsletter.

  Electronic Mail List Server:
This server provides access to last minute trip plans, river information and other river related topics. The server is designed for use by members only. For more information, contact Todd French at .
